Carol Siegrist was previously the Director of Training & Animal Behavior for the PSPCA. She has been working with dogs and cats
for more than 20 years as an owner,
trainer, and most recently as a Certified Canine Behavior Consultant (CBCC-KA), Certified Professional Dog Trainer
and also has a Diploma in
Animal Behavior Technology (Dip.ABT) from the Companion Animal Sciences Institute.
Carol designed and implemented programs to successfully rehabilitate shelter dogs with behavior problems so they could be placed appropriately in caring homes. Carol
also developed several training modules specifically for shelters. Carol also started
a behavior hotline at the PSPCA offering private consultations and training to help
pet owners understand how to address
their pet’s behavior problems with proper intervention.

In 2008, Carol left the PSPCA to focus on building her private dog training practice, Siegrist LLC, Dog Training & Consultation, which is dedicated to fostering effective communication between animals and their owners.

In addition to her private practice, Carol remains dedicated to supporting shelter and rescue animals by offering her training and shelter experience in a number of ways
to help train staff and volunteers to work
with their animals and prepare them for good homes. Carol also offers pet owners who adopt from shelters and rescues significant discounts on her private training services.

In addition to her CPDT certification, Carol
is a Certified Canine Behavior Consultant (CBCC), and holds a BSEd from Temple University as well as MLS and MBA degrees from Drexel University. Carol lives in Center City Philadelphia with her husband and her two special-needs dogs, Hazel and Pumpkin,
both adopted from shelters.
